Each room is furnished with antiques and decorated with family memorabilia. Every guest room has a private bath, , a queen sized bed, and a heater/air conditioner controlled by the guest. Upon arrival the guests are usually treated to a refreshing beverage, and some goodie that Dorsey or one of our girls have just baked. The living room has the original bird's eye maple fireplace. The quiet parlor/library with a turret sitting area is a perfect spot to read, visit or just relax. Outside the Sanford House has a welcoming front porch, for sipping cool lemonade or a local wine, or just sitting looking out across the large front lawn. There is also a side garden, complete with benches, a koi pond and cherry trees.
Breakfast-time is always special at the Sanford House. Dorsey will prepare a gourmet breakfast whenever the guests would like to eat.
The inn is located in a quiet neighborhood on the old west side of Ukiah. Lake Mendocino is only ten minutes away. The town of Mendocino is a scenic hour drive to the west through the Anderson valley with it's rolling vineyards, orchards and majestic redwoods.
